Sending “Save the Date” cards is a great idea if you want to make sure everyone will know when your wedding will be. In general, these cards are sent six months prior to the wedding date. However, some couples choose to send them out earlier than that, especially if they plan on having their wedding on a very busy time of the year (the holiday season, for example) or if they plan on having a destination wedding.

No matter what kind of wedding you want though, sending “Save the Date” cards is really useful. And if you want your Save the Dates to be just as unique and interesting as your own love story is, make sure to read on and inspire yourself!

•Paper planes. If you want to have a destination wedding, make this the theme of your “Save the Date” cards too. Mark an “X” of your destination on map, and shape it as a paper plane. Add all the details of the card (the date the guests have to save, location and so on) on a paper “compass”.
•Calendar stickers. Some people choose to simply shoot photos of themselves and use them as “Save the Date” cards. If you like this idea, but if you would like to “upgrade” it, have your photos printed on calendar stickers. Send them alongside an actual calendar and a note saying when your wedding will take place.
•Handkerchiefs. There’s something romantic and cute about handkerchiefs that everyone loves. Choose a nice fabric for your handkerchiefs and have them printed with your wedding date (and location). Make sure to use a vintage font for the writing to add some “style” to your Save the Dates!
•Confetti. Give your guests a “preview” of how fun your wedding will be by using confetti bombs to share the great news!
