On Friday, October 2, 2015 Mrs. Joyce Gelpi Bazile & Mr. Michael Bazile held their wedding reception in our Pontchartrain ballroom!
Joyce’s aunt, Jean Campagna, spent the morning with friends decorating the Fleur de Lis & shaping it into the fairy tale wedding venue that Joyce and Michael imagined. Her flower arrangements & foyer decorations were absolutely beautiful. Joyce used Mandeville Bake Shop for her cake! Such a fun and convenient choice to have petite cupcakes instead of a large cake! No Mess & So So Easy!
When Joyce and Michael arrived they were so excited and ready to hurry up and get downstairs to join the party with their family and friends. The newlyweds shared such a sweet and romantic first dance. Immediately following Joyce was accompanied by her father for a charming Daddy – Daughter dance. Michael and his Mom also stared in a choreographed dance! All eyes were on the pair who were so much fun to watch, they had the whole crowd singing and dancing along with them as they mastered the dance floor. After these special dances all of the guests joined the bride and groom on the dance floor.
Dancing was interrupted for just a little while when people lined up to dance with the bride and groom – “this is the only dance of the night that you do have to pay for!” – said the DJ as he announced the money dance! $$
Michael and Joyce toasted to the start of their new lives together before very carefully cutting their delicious cake topper; the guests quickly devouring these darling cupcakes. There was many threats of cake-smashing and the groomsmen even started chanting in an attempt to encourage the groom however, both the bride and groom walked away with clean, icing-free faces.
The Fleur de Lis Event Center loves couples who like to dance!
After the garter toss Michael gave a heart-wrenching speech about the three people in his life who’ve made him the man he is today; his beautiful wife being the most influential. Michael and Joyce ended their speech with the surprising announcement that their expected baby is to be a girl!!!!! All the theatrical lights suddenly switched to pink while their family and friends cheered and simultaneous wiped away the tears from hearing such a sweet, honest, and romantic speech. Following the last song of the evening, everyone second-lined right out into the courtyard where they sent-off Michael and Joyce to begin their lives as a married couple. The send-off was complete with bubbles!

It was truly an honor to assist you in beginning this journey and to watch the love you two share with each other and with your families. We are so glad we could help you have the fun wedding you two deserve! We wish you a lifetime of happiness and never-ending romance. The two of you have so much to look forward to including the birth of your baby girl! Congratulations!
